Yang Guifei, the renowned royal concubine from Tang Dynasty, was famed for her unparalleled radiance. Legend has it that she relied on the captivating snow mushroom to nurture her flawless complexion.

Tremella is a frilly, translucent mushroom that's been referred to as nature's hyaluronic acid, holding up to 500 times its weight in water.

But it's so much more. In Chinese medicine, it's considered a Yin tonic to help hydrate the skin and body, strengthen immunity, soothe throat dryness, and relieve fatigue.

RECIPE

Try this classic Chinese medicine tremella dessert soup to hydrate the skin from within.

* 1 tremella
* 2 jujubes
* 1 Asian pear, peeled and cubed
* 5g goji berries

Soak the tremella until it blooms into a jelly cloud. Trim it into smaller pieces and discard the hard center core. Remove the pit from the jujubes.

Fill a pot with tremella and cover with filtered water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1-3 hours until desired softness. Add jujubes and pear 30 minutes before finish. Turn off heat and add the goji.

Option to sweeten with honey. You can enjoy it warm or chilled for breakfast.
