The HEALING

We are holistically energetic beings

Acupuncture is a treatment in which thin needles are inserted into the skin at specific points on the body. These points, known as acupuncture points, are located on channels of energy, called meridians, that run throughout the body. Acupuncture helps to promote the flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood, and restore balance to the body. It is often used to treat pain, fatigue, stress, digestive disorders, addiction, and many other health conditions.

Zhenjiu - means acupuncture and moxibustion in Chinese. In classical Chinese medicine, these two treatments often go hand and hand, even though they use different tools.

Moxibustion involves burning dried mugwort, Ai Cao, near the surface of the skin to stimulate specific points on the body. The heat and therapeutic properties of the mugwort penetrate the skin and affect the flow of Qi in the body, which is believed to be the root of many health issues in traditional Chinese medicine.

Moxibustion can be done in several ways, including direct and indirect methods. Direct moxibustion involves placing small cones of moxa directly on the skin, while indirect moxibustion involves placing a layer of material, such as ginger or salt, between the moxa and the skin. Moxibustion can also be done with acupuncture needles, in which case it is called "warm needling".

Moxibustion is often used to treat a variety of conditions, including pain, digestive issues, menstrual problems, and respiratory issues.  We always recommend that it should be performed by a trained practitioner to minimize the risk of burns or other adverse effects.

Cupping therapy is another TCM treatment in which cups are placed on the skin to create a suction effect. This is typically done by heating the air inside a glass or plastic cup, which creates a vacuum when the cup is placed on the skin. This treatment helps improve blood flow and promote healing in the affected area. Cupping therapy is often used to treat pain, muscle tension, inflammation and other health conditions.

TCM herbal medicine uses herbs and other natural substances to promote health and treat disease. While each herb has their own unique properties and effects on the body, practitioners use combinations of herbs to achieve a synergistic effect that address each individual's health conditions.

Chinese herbal medicine is used to treat a wide range of conditions, from allergies and skin disorders to chronic pain and insomnia. The herbs used in TCM herbal medicine may be taken orally, applied topically, or used in the form of moxibustion (the burning of herbs on or near the skin).

TCM herbal medicine is often used in combination with other TCM treatment modalities, such as acupuncture, to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to health and wellness.

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped with a smooth, flat object, such as a spoon or a flat stone. The scraping motion helps to improve blood circulation and reduce stiffness and pain in the muscles and joints. Gua Sha is often used to treat sore throats, headaches, and other health conditions.

Tuina is form of medical massage that involves the use of hand techniques to manipulate the muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues of the body. It is believed to improve blood flow and promote healing, and it is often used to treat pain, fatigue, and other health conditions. Techniques may include pressing, kneading, rolling, and rubbing the muscles and other soft tissues.
